Movers For Moms®

Movers For Moms® is TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®’s Annual Spring Campaign. First launched in 2007 by TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the Movers for Moms® program seeks to recognize moms in crisis on Mother’s Day by arranging delivery of gifts to women living in local shelters on the holiday weekend. In 2018, every TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® location participated and collectively gathered more than 300,000 donations for women living in shelters on Mother’s Day.

This year, our TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Huntsville location is partnering with Downtown Rescue Mission. We will be collecting essential items for their women’s and children’s shelter, Owen’s House. We will have collection boxes in businesses, organizations, churches and schools around the Tennessee Valley for people to drop off their donations. We will also have events hosted throughout the span of the collection drive for even more opportunity to bring in donations. Then, at the end of the collection drive, we will gather all the essential items donated and gift them to the shelter as a BIG Mother’s Day present!

The campaign will run from March 18th – May 8th. Collection days will be Thursday, May 9th & Friday, 10th. Drop off day at the shelter will be Saturday, May 11th (Mother’s Day is the next day, Sunday, May 12th).

The wish-list of essential items include:
– Unisex toiletries:
o Toothbrushes/toothpaste
o Disposable razors
o Shampoo/Conditioner (2-in-1)
o Body wash
o Soap (bars)
– Women’s Underwear
– Unisex socks
– Children’s underwear and socks
– Diapers (3m-6m)
We’re excited for this year’s Movers for Moms® program to help make Mother’s Day 2019 a happier day for mothers in need across the Tennessee Valley.
