Before there was Oakwood University, Oakwood College, Oakwood Junior College, or Oakwood Manual Training School, there was the Oakwood Industrial School, a boarding and preparatory school founded to train young people of African American descent. During the early years, there was no distinction between the high school and the college. All students were educated under the same Administration. It wasn’t until 1974 that the Academy became an independent day school.

Since 1974, many graduates of Oakwood Adventist Academy have matriculated to Oakwood University and gone on to make great impacts on the world as alumni of both prestigious institutions. So in the spirit of our joint founding, current relationship, and 123 years of providing a quality Christian Education, the Oakwood Adventist Academy Alumni Association (OAAAA) and Oakwood University (OU) are sponsoring a luncheon to be held immediately after Divine Worship during the annual Oakwood University Alumni Weekend festivities, on Sabbath, April 20, 2019, immediately after Divine Worship, for all Oakwood University Alumni, Family, Friends, and Supporters.

Bring the family! Invite a fellow classmate! Come out and enjoy wonderful food and fellowship with your Oakwood classmates, Oakwood University friends, and extended OAA or OU families!

Tickets are $22 for adults; and $17.00 for children (age 10 and under).

(Luncheon catered by Mangos Caribbean Cookhouse. Menu to be provided.)

Reserved seating is not available for this event.
