Decatur, AL – The Adult Education and Workforce Solutions departments at Calhoun Community College are collaborating to offer two free boot camps designed for individuals desiring to develop a sound foundation in the manufacturing and construction industries. Both camps will begin June 18 and will be held at Calhoun’s Decatur campus.
The Alabama Advanced Manufacturing Certification boot camp is a 10-week program designed for those looking to develop a solid foundation of manufacturing processes and production, safety, maintenance awareness, and lean manufacturing principles. “Those enrolled in this program will learn skills which will improve their chances of being successfully employed in the manufacturing industry,” commented Courtney Taylor, Calhoun’s Director of Workforce Solutions. According to Taylor, students in the program will also participate in the Ready to Work programs and WorkKeys testing at the college.
Upon completion, students will have the opportunity to test for the nationally-recognized Manufacturing Skills Standards Council Certified Production Technician (CPT) and the American Society for Quality Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification (CSSYB).
