Little Libraries Dedication
LITTLE LIBRARIES PROVIDE FREE BOOKS TO THE COMMUNITY
(Promoting learning, literacy and imagination)
The Central North Alabama Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will dedicate three (3) Little Libraries on 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2021. The Little Libraries are located in Morgan, Limestone and Lawrence County, the community service and outreach territory for Central North Alabama Alumnae Chapter. Each Little Library will be dedicated at the same time, 11:30 a.m., on December 8, 2021.
The Little Libraries are located at Hazelwood Elementary School, (334 Hazelwood St., Town Creek, AL), Tanner Elementary School (12067 Dowd Street, Tanner, AL.,) and Shiloh Pre-Kindergarten School, (2415 Old Moulton Road, Decatur, AL.).
Each Little Library provides our community and underserved residents convenient and FREE access to books. You don’t ‘check out’ books from Little Libraries and readers don’t have to worry about a deadline to return books. Just visit a Little Library and select the book that you want. When you finish reading the book, return it; or keep the book. Also, residents can leave books at the Little Libraries for others to enjoy.
In promoting education and literacy, Central North Alabama Alumnae Chapter invites the community to take a book and if you desire, share a book. In the words or Orhan Pamuk, “I read a book one day and my whole life was changed”.
We thank our community partners in this effort: Hazelwood Elementary School, Tanner Elementary School and Shiloh Pre-K School.
