Special Guest Rev. Al Sharpton at Oakwood University Church
Rev. Al Sharpton will be a special guest at Oakwood University Church
Activist Al Sharpton’s visit to Huntsville, AL at the Oakwood University Church has been modified to Sunday, January 29, at 6:00 pm. Given the community nature of this event, coupled with it serving as a pre-cursor to Black History Month (February) activities, this adjustment will enable Activist Sharpton to interact with those in attendance from the Huntsville community and surrounding areas more extensively.
Rev. Al Sharpton is an internationally renowned civil rights leader, activist, founder, and President of National Action Network (NAN). He has dedicated his life to the fight for justice and equality. For decades, he has turned the power of dissent and protest into tangible legislation impacting the lives of ordinary people. As President Barack Obama
himself once stated, Rev. Sharpton is a “voice for the voiceless” and a “champion for the downtrodden.”
