A Moment in Time – Pastor Debleaire K. Snell

Pastor Debleaire K. Snell was born in Tallahassee, Florida to Deborah and Larry Snell.

In 1999, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology from Oakwood University. In Spring of 1999, he was hired by the South Central Seventh-day Adventist Conference.

Upon graduating, Pastor Snell began his graduate school matriculation at Andrews University. While at Andrews, he served as the Youth Pastor for the Praise Fellowship SDA Church in South Bend, Indiana. In December of 2001, he received his Masters of Divinity from Andrews Theological Seminary.

From 2002-2006 Pastor Snell led a two Church district in Columbus and West Point, MS. From 2006-2010, he served as the lead pastor of the Lima Drive SDA Church in Lexington, KY.

In 2010, Pastor Snell was assigned as the Senior Pastor of the First SDA Church of Huntsville, AL. During his tenure there, explosive growth took place as hundreds of souls were baptized.

On July 28, 2021, the North American Division Adventist Media Ministries board voted to accept the name of Debleaire Snell as the new Speaker/Director for Breath of Life Television Ministries.

On January 22, 2022, Pastor Snell was installed as the new Senior Pastor of Oakwood University Church.

Pastor Snell is also the author of seven books, including, Kindle best-seller, Get Unrealistic, Almost Home, New Normals, Leap Year and Making Christianity Great Again. He has had numerous articles and essays published.

Pastor Snell is happily married to his wife of 20 years, the former Gianna Norman of Nashville, TN, and they are the grateful parents of Jadon, Brooke, and Braydon.

His favorite text is II Corinthians 5:17, which states “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 

Message of Praise

The mission of WJOU is to transform lives through Christian music, spoken word and community engagement. Praise 90.1 FM – WJOU’s mission includes sharing the Christian experience through radio broadcasting and digital media, to provide training for students, and to represent Oakwood University to the community.
